Durante tres días en el mes de febrero los murtinos y murtinas celebran y homenajean al arriero, figura particular de su historia.
Esta actividad es organizada por la junta de vecinos N°7 de Bahía Murta, y postulada al FNDR 2 % de Cultura, la cual cada año genera mayor expectativa y número de visitantes, posicionándose como una de las festividades más importantes del sur de la Región.
Dentro de las actividades más importantes que se desarrollan se destacan: el desfile del arriero, festival de apialaduras, fiesta campera, ferias artesanales y de productos locales, evento artístico con los más importantes músicos de la región y los exquisitos asados populares.

Cada 30 de agosto nuestra pequeña localidad se engalana para celebrar a su patrona Santa Rosa de Lima, fiesta de antigua data que llegó primeramente a Pelequén y posteriormente a Murta.
El Santuario dedicado a Santa Rosa en la región de Aysén, se encuentra emplazado en el sector llamado Murta viejo, que tiempo atrás fue arrasado por el río Engaño, y se ha transformado en un lugar de peregrinación y encuentro, donde se realiza la Eucaristía dedicada a Santa Rosa de Lima en Murta Viejo, para luego compartir comunitariamente los alimentos.
Santa Rosa nació en Lima, Perú en el año 1586. No existían conventos de monjas en su ciudad, por eso se consagró como laica terciaria dominica y levantó una ermita en el fondo de su casa. Allí se dedicó a la oración y a la penitencia; desde allí salía para visitar a pobres y enfermos. Ella es la primera santa americana, y simboliza el primer brote de la evangelización en el continente.

Explora Murta es un evento deportivo recreativo, que se raliza el ultimo fin de semana de enero de cada año; idea de unos integrantes de la Agrupación de Turismo, Deporte y Cultura "Calafates" de Bahía Murta, con la finalidad de dar a conocer la increible experiencia que es visitar Bahía Murta y Puerto Sánchez. Evento que lleva realizándose por dos años, en la primera versión (31 enero y 01 febrero 2015) participaron 5 personas, el segundo año (29, 30 y 31 enero 2016) gracias a la publicidad y recomendación de nuestro evento fueron 25 los que participaron. Para este año ya llevamos mas de 40 pre inscripciones.
Explora Murta se lleva a cabo en dos días, dedicando el primero a un Triatlón que implica Mountain Bike (MTB), Running y Kayak, partiendo desde Puerto Sánchez en bicicleta hasta Bahía Murta (24k), punto donde pasan de pedalear a correr por la Senda el Rodado, hasta alcanzar el puente Murta 2 ( 18k) para abordar los kayaks y remar (20k) de regreso por el Río Murta hasta el Lago General Carrera pasando frente a la desembocadura de los ríos El Engaño, Murta y Resbalón hasta la meta en la Piedra Inglesa en Bahía Murta. Ahí se recibe a los competidores con la merecida festividad, entrega de premios, música regional, artesanías, productos locales, juegos y asados al palo.
El segundo día se realiza un descenso recreativo o de contemplación por los ríos Muerto y Murta, culminando dicha actividad en el mismo punto de encuentro que es la Piedra Inglesa, lugar que se ha transformado en el sitio tradicional de festividades locales que involucran actividades lacustres.

Explora Murta is a recreational sports event, which is held on the last weekend of January of each year; Idea of some members of the Association of Tourism, Sport and Culture "Calafates" of Bahía Murta, with the purpose of giving to know the incredible experience that is to visit Bahía Murta and Puerto Sánchez. In the first version (31 January and 1 February 2015), there were 5 participants, the second year (29, 30 and 31 January 2016), thanks to the publicity and recommendation of our event, 25 participants participated . For this year we already have more than 40 pre inscriptions.
Explora Murta takes place in two days, dedicating the first to a Triathlon that involves Mountain Bike (MTB), Running and Kayak, starting from Puerto Sanchez by bike to Bahía Murta (24k), where they go from pedaling to running on the Senda el Rodado, until reaching the bridge Murta 2 (18k) to board the kayaks and paddle (20k) back through the Murta River to Lake General Carrera passing the mouth of the rivers El Engaño, Murta and Slip to the finish line In the English Stone in Bahía Murta. With traditional cars, matte , fried cakes , and presentation of great artists it takes place the week anniversary of Bahia Murta , in mid- February.
The event takes traditions and skills which in recent years have been shelved , and incorporates participation by alliances , each with their respective reigns .
Before closing the festivities with the " big dance " , attendees can see over the cars elgóricos alluding to the history of our people , for example the " Wilhelmina " , a historical vessel that once the people will cross the lake .
Con carros tradicionales, mate, tortas fritas, y la presentación de grandes artistas se lleva a cabo la semana de aniversario de Bahía Murta, a mediados del mes de febrero.
El evento retoma tradiciones y competencias que en los últimos años se han dejado de lado, además de incorporar una participación por alianzas, cada una con su respectiva reina.
Antes de cerrar las fiestas con el “gran baile”, los asistentes pueden apreciar el paso de los carros elgóricos alusivos a la historia de nuestro pueblo, por ejemplo la “Guillermina”, una histórica embarcación que antiguamente surcara el lago del pueblo.

La familia murtina año a año se prepara y dispone todo su tiempo a esta gran obra de la "Teletón".
Demostrando el gran corazón de murtinas y murtinos, se desarrollan una gran cantidad de actividades que irán todas en beneficio de los niños y niñas del Centro de Teletón de Coyhaique.
Durante un mes se desarrollan actividades como: disfratón, cruceton, feriaton, completon, trucoton, y muchas más. Además los niños y niñas de la escuela y el jardín llenan sus respectivas alcancias que han sido repartidas en los distintos cursos, quienes también realizan actividades para realizar aportes monetarios.
Para finalizar se acompaña al show nacional con uno propio en nuestro pueblo, en el que se presentan distintas familias con un número artístico, para terminar al otro día con el cómputo final.
Bahía Murta se ha destacado históricamente por ser el pueblo que mas aporta en relación a la cantidad de población.

El Rodeo Oficial se realiza a mediados de enero, considerado este uno de los mejores de la región de Aysén, donde Bahía Murta es visitada por mas de 500 personas ligadas a este deporte nacional.
La media luna del Club de Rodeo Chileno de Bahía Murta se viste de gala para recibir al público, sobre todo familias venidas de distintos puntos de nuestra región e incluso fuera de ella, en el caso de los turistas y visitantes, quienes manifiestan su asombro ante el espectáculo que brindan las colleras participantes.
En distintas oportunidades, más de cincuenta colleras compiten en las distintas series que se corren durante los dos días de competencia: Serie Caballos, Criadores, Yeguas, Potros y las Series Libres para finalmente disputarse la serie más esperada por todos, tanto públicos como participantes, la Serie Campeones.
Finalmente, esta gran fiesta de chilenidad que se vive en Bahía Murta termina con el gran baile de amanecida con la animación de grandes orquestas regionales.

Half Moon Club Rodeo Chileno Bahía Murta dresses for the public, especially families from different parts of our region and even beyond, in the case of tourists and visitors who expressed their astonishment at the spectacle offered by the participating collars.
On several occasions, over fifty collars compete in the different series that are run during the two days of competition: Serie Horses, Breeders, Mares, Colts and Free series eventually dispute the most anticipated series of all public and participants, Series Champions.
Finally, this great celebration of chilenidad that exists in Bahia Murta great ball ends at dawn with animating a regional orchestras.
