LO QUE ÉRAMOS, LO QUE SOMOS Y LO QUE SEREMOS
Aunque el primer impulso es despedirme de cada lugar con un “volveré”, no lo hago porque sé que será difícil cumplir. Con Bahía Murta es distinto.

LO QUE ÉRAMOS
WHAT WE WERE
Éramos un grupo de soñadores y soñadoras, que llegamos desde distintos lugares hace ya más de 50 años, con el sueño de forjar un futuro para nuestros hijos y descendencia.
Nos asentamos en un fértil valle entre los río Murta y Engaño, ahí vimos nacer y crecer a nuestros hijos. Las necesidades se fueron supliendo con tesón, trabajo, paciencia y mucho sudor. Así construímos escuela, un remedo de posta y nuestra iglesia.
Fuimos poco a poco limpiando los campos, sacando la maleza y reemplazándola por frutales y otras plantas útiles. Y así íbamos ganando la batalla a esta naturaleza recia, hasta que un aciago 11 de marzo, el Río Engaño, haciéndole honor a su nombre pasó sin aviso por sobre el pueblo.
Quizo la providencia que se salvaran todos sus habitantes, aunque a algunos les parezca extraño, la Iglesia no fué arrasada por las aguas.
Una vez que las aguas bajaron, seguimos adelante......
We were a group of dreamers and dreamers , we came from different places and more than 50 years ago with the dream of building a future for our children and descendants.
We settled in a fertile valley between Murta and Deception River , there we saw born and grow our children . The needs were supplementing with tenacity, work, patience and a lot of sweat . So we built school, a post shadowing and our church .
We were slowly clearing fields , pulling weeds and replacing fruit trees and other useful plants. And so we were winning the battle to this sturdy nature, until a fateful March 11 , Deception River , honoring his name passed without notice over the people.
Did providence that all its inhabitants were saved, although it may seem strange to some , the Church was not washed away . Once the waters receded , we move ......
LO QUE SOMOS
WHAT WE ARE
.... Y nos trasladamos a otro sector, cercano a nuestro antiguo pueblo, gracias a la generosidad de un poblador que donó las tierras donde actualmente se erige Bahía Murta.
Con el tiempo volvimos a sembrar, plantar, cosechar y seguimos creciendo.
Con los años vimos la llegada de la Pilchero, y ya estábamos conectados a través del lago con nuestros vecinos, también llegó el camino que hoy se conoce como Carretera Austral, pero que era sólo una senda de penetración en medio de los bosques.
También llegaron nuevos habitantes a nuestro pueblo, aportando su conocimiento y cuota de sacrificio y trabajo.
Hogar de un poco más de 300 habitantes, entre ellos, vidas y personajes fascinantes, y una cultura que vibra con tradiciones y oficios que se han transmitido de generación en generación hasta el presente.
También entramos al siglo XXI con la conectividad digital para celulares e internet, ya no sólo tenemos televisión abierta, sino satelital. Pero seguimos siendo los mismos pobladores, hombres y mujeres, de esfuerzo, de trabajo, sencillos, que tenemos como principal actividad la ganadería de vacunos.
Se dice que aquí están algunas de las mejores carnes regionales y su fama salta a la vista, ya que sus carnicerías suelen ser frecuentadas por habitantes de otras localidades que al pasar por acá, no dudan en llevar el mejor trozo de lomo o filete de vaquilla.
Pero también tenemos sueños y anhelos.....

Eventually we came to sow, plant, harvest and continue to grow.
Over the years we saw the arrival of the Pilchero, and we were connected through the lake with our neighbors, also reached the road now known as Southern Highway, but it was just a way of penetration in the middle of forests.
They also reached new people to our people, contributing their knowledge and share of sacrifice and work.
Home to just over 300 inhabitants, including life and fascinating characters, and a culture that vibrates with traditions and crafts that have been passed from one generation to the present.
Also we entered the XXI century with the digital mobile and internet connectivity, not only have free TV, but Satellite. But still the same people, men and women, effort, work, simple, we have as main activities cattle ranching.
It is said that here are some of the best regional meats and fame obvious, as their butchers are usually frequented by residents of other localities to come by, do not hesitate to bring the best piece of tenderloin or filet heifer .
But we also have hopes and dreams .....
LO QUE SEREMOS
.......Sueños y anhelos de ser reconocidos como un pueblo privilegiado por la naturaleza, rodeado de sitios perfectos para la pesca deportiva, hermosas montañas y bosques para realizar trekking, aguas turquesas del lago para paseos en bote o kayak, y exquisitas termas naturales. Nuestro pueblo cuenta además con hermosos senderos que puedes recorrer a pie o a caballo.
Poco a poco los pobladores empiezan a abrir las puertas de sus tranquilas vidas al viajero, al visitante, que ansía descansar y disfrutar de la paz y belleza de este Paraíso escondido en la Patagonia....
WHAT WE WILL
....... Dreams and desires to be recognized as a privileged people by nature, surrounded by perfect places for fishing , beautiful mountains and forests for hiking , turquoise waters of the lake for boating or kayaking, and exquisite natural hot springs . Our village also has beautiful trails you can explore on foot or horseback.
Gradually the villagers begin to open the doors of their quiet lives traveler , the visitor, who longs to relax and enjoy the peace and beauty of this hidden paradise in Patagonia ....
